I was wondering about the word analysis at the start of Step 10. The word is billfold, which obviously has 3 L's in it...but the board only has two L tiles.
We just wrote in the missing one with our dry erase markers.

The word "biggest" is one of the words used for the writing station. Did we discuss somewhere doubling the consonant before adding the suffix? I just corrected ds's spelling of the word, and we went on.

In my laminating fervor, I laminate all the word cards. So...I start laminating the word cards for level 3 this evening and realize...after it's already started in the laminator...that I've picked up two pages instead of one!

You handled this situation perfectly! The word stirring will be deleted from Step 13 in the next print run of Level 3. As you noticed, the ir phonogram isn't introduced until later in the Level 3 book.
I've got a question that has come up as we've gone through Level 3.
It comes from Step 13. In the list of words to apply the 1-1-1 Rule is the word 'stir + ing' and I notice that it makes a mention of the 'ir' tile which hasn't been taught.

Here's another change that will appear in the next printing:
In Step 11, it says to store the ed tile under the "Vowel Teams" label. It actually belongs under the "Other Tiles" label.
Our jail is just big enough for the card to slip into and it's held by magnets on all four corners. We just slip the card in and it rests on the bottom two magnets.
That's what I did as well. I reduced the size of our jail till it's just a bit bigger than the word card. (Yes, cutting out the bars was a trick!) It stays permanently on our board. DS loves putting the words in jail and often takes them out of the…
