Well, we've done our boxes all of 4 days! But we've had an unintended shift in our pattern of doing things, maybe someone can help me figure out what to do...
We used to do a short "tutoring time" each morning after our history/Bible/science time. I would send child 1 (either one, they take turns going first) to go do something (LA or handwriting or a chore), while I went over corrections for child 2's LA and math & anything else from the previous day. Then we switched (spelling might get done with child 2 before child 1 got back some days).
The problem...my kids no longer have their books in a stack--they're all in different drawers! So I've found myself writing notes to them--and then they don't get something but try to do it & it's taking up more time, OR they are missing the one on one interaction we had that I think was valuable.
OR...
We end up having 4 different tutoring times (and some days more) for every subject that had corrections, instead of getting it overwith in one sitting like before.
It doesn't help that DS is doing something new and difficult in both math AND LA and has needed more of my time.
So...Do I leave their books in a stack & then load in the morning after our tutoring time? I usually don't correct until night time, and none of us wants to correct and tutor at the end of the school day, we want to be done then!
The system isn't supposed to bog us down, LOL! But surely some of you other moms have solutions you've come up with! There should be a simple solution, right?
How do you handle corrections etc...?
Thanks, Merry :-)
