Oooh, congratulations on starting Level 5! We've got another couple of months to go I think.

We started level 5 today. It went really well...of course the first few lessons always do! The DC is naturally excited to begin something new!

Hi Janet,
Right now Level 4 ends with Sound Card 75, and Level 5 begins with Sound Card 78. Currently, there are no Sound Cards 76 and 77.

Hi,
The manual for this level says you should have sound cards 1-77 from previous levels. I seem to have only 1-75 from level 4. I have not opened the materials package because I need to sell Level 5. Are sound cards 76 and 77 are in Level 5?

I think I'll be ready to start level 5 with my 12 year old in about 3 weeks. The younger one is about 3 weeks behind her. Their spelling had improved DRAMATICALLY.

Hi All!

We're through Step 17 on Level 5, and enjoying it. . . . should be done before Christmas. I've been working through AAS since August of 2008, and have seen great improvements in the spelling of my middle daughters, ages 9 & 11.

I also bought Level 5 while on sale. I have one son still in Level 4 and the other son who finished Level 4 in February waiting to start Level 5. However, since I am working full time now, I don't know if I will be able to continue with him in Level 5. I am not sure he needs it anyway. His spelling assessment from Let's Go Learn.com ranked him in upper 6th grade for spelling. I may use the teacher's guide for reference for him and go to it periodically to focus on a specific spelling/phonogram if he is having trouble with it in his writing. Right now, I am focused on the son that's in Level 4.

Hi Jill and Siloam,
Even though you aren't ready to actually use Level 5 yet, it's nice to see where the program is leading, isn't it? I can't wait to use it with my students -- great stuff in there!

Jill,

Don't feel bad, we are only on level 2 and, yes, I bought 5 on sale. :D

So...I have to ask...do you scrape the frosting off for him with your fork, or do you let him lick it off?!

My son is like that Merry, only frosting for him. I don't like frosting so he and I make a perfect team. LOL Kel

Everyone in our house does, but every once in awhile I do meet a kid who doesn't--always makes me do a double take! Also I knew a little girl who would only eat the frosting, LOL! Merry :-)

Denise, I forgot to add that the curriculum fair season will be starting soon. You can get the chance to be overwhelmed by all your choices! Actually, if you can narrow down your options first or take a buddy, it can be very helpful to see the mate…

Denise (or Neecie if you prefer), First of all, take a deep breath. You can do this. It's not easy, but it can be both enjoyable and rewarding. Secondly, look around your area for support and resources. What is available in your community? My son…
