I am just starting Level 3 with one of my students and have a question about storing the suffix tiles. I've looked through the Level 3 and Level 4 books and don't see that they are stored on the magnetic board. Are they just meant to be kept in the "use now" bag and pulled out when needed?
I edited this post as I had inadvertently written "syllable" tiles instead of suffix in the body of my post. Sorry for the confusion.
You'll be using the syllable tiles quite often during Level 3, so you'll probably want to store them on the magnetic board. I store mine in the lower right hand corner.
Your title says "suffix tiles"--I store mine under the jail, LOL! (I magnetized the suffix tiles AND our jail & just put the jail over the suffixes. Poor suffixes, whatever did they do to deserve being stored there?!)
But your note said syllable tiles--so I wasn't sure which you meant but I do keep both on the board (though I don't put the syllable tags in jail, LOL!)
I attribute my "syllable tiles" to a senior moment. I am of that age. I meant suffix tiles as the title said. Since I am an in-home tutor, I have to carry around a pretty large magnetic board, so I really don't have room to put the jail on my board. I think I am just going to keep the syllable tiles loose in a ziplock like I do the syllable tags. I keep hoping some clever person will come up with an entire portable system that folds up like a suitcase. Ah, wishful thinking.
I would like your suggestion to my daughter Suzanna Christy who is studying First standard in an English Medium School. She needs some motivation to read lessons on her own. What are the methods? Kindly suggest some methods. Thank you.
