The ChatterBee

I looked around a bit and didn't find my answer, so forgive me if it's been discussed already. If so, please point me in the right direction!

Ok, so I have a first grade boy currently doing MFW 1st grade. I would like to use AAS with him. So do I just add it to what we are using for phonics or do AAS instead of current phonics program? Any thought would be much appreciated!!!

I would continue on with your current phonics program and add AAS. My kids will all complete all 8 ETC books and MCP as needed. AAS is great for reviewing phonics or catching any holes.

Thanks. I was wondering if it would be confusing to him using both at the same time.

You can really do it either way. AAS is a complete phonics program, so it will eventually cover all of the phonics for reading. However, because it is scripted and paced for spelling, some people find they want to cover phonics for reading separately, at a faster pace. HTH! Merry :-)

I would like your suggestion to my daughter Suzanna Christy who is studying First standard in an English Medium School. She needs some motivation to read lessons on her own. What are the methods? Kindly suggest some methods. Thank you. MBJ Pancras
