Hi Angela
I'm not an expert - just a mum, but I've added in the fourth sound - a (bat) A (baby) ah (bath) aw (water, all of the "all" words) right from the start. I did write it on the cards.
I didn't think this added any pressure - it gave us 4 sounds instead of 3, but "y" has 4 sounds so it was no worse than that. I would only do one "hard" letter at a time though.

Hi there, we are an Australian family and live in Singapore. I just received everything and ready for my first step next week.
Did you write on your a sound card the extra pronounciations of a for the first step? Did this cause confusion and extra pressure for your children?
My daughter has auditory problems which has led me to this programme as I don't believe she has heard everything correctly over the past 3 years of her schooling and this has led to the problems she has now with spelling and decoding when reading.
Would you recommend waiting until we come across the extra a sounds and deal with them when we get to them when she has more confidence with using the programme?
