Marie has been busy!

TWO new readers to go with AAS Level 2, PLUS Level 6 of AAS are in the works right now.  The tentative release date is in time for the Midwest Home School convention, April 8-10.

AND...the new reading program, All About Reading Level 1 is tentatively scheduled to come out by the end of December, 2010.

All About Reading Level 1 is for which age group? Is it similar to AAS like letter tiles etc? Any preview of scope?

Hi Czarina,

AAS and AAR correspond, so they follow the same teaching sequence. AAR will be for new and struggling readers of all ages.

Yes, AAR uses letter tiles.

Sorry, there is no scope & sequence available yet, but it will Include phonics, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. HTH some! Merry :-)

Great news. I was going to order level 4 and 5 this Spring, as my daughter will finish level 3 next month or so, but now I'll just wait for level 6 to come out too to save on shipping.

All About Reading is a little far out for me. My 3rd child is making slow and steady progress, and I suspect he'll be past All About Reading level 1 by the time it is out (assuming it's level will be close to that of All About Spelling level 1). I could hold off on starting my 4th to read, but I don't think he'll let me. He is jumping at the bit now. Maybe I'll use it for my 5th, in a couple years.

Anyway, I'm super happy to hear about level 6 and the readers.

yeah! excited about level 6 but we just started level 5. i'll still get it when it comes out. AND i can't wait to see the new readers. my DC ate up the first reader so we can't wait for more! I'm always a sucker for good readers for the DC! BTW...dd10's favorite subject is now spelling! I never thought it would happen--she used to HATE spelling!

I have a quick question, do you know if AAR Level 1 is going to use the AAS Level 1 or will it be a separate program? I was thinking if AAS 1 was going to be a part of the AAR Level 1, I could buy it in advance.

Thanks!

They'll be separate. AAR will be a stand-alone product, so someone could choose to do just that or just AAS, or both. HTH!

Thank you so much for letting me know Merry. That sounds so interesting. I can't wait for more information. I sure wish it was coming out sooner. :)

Could you tell me a bit more about the All About Reading Level 1? What age/grade will it be for? How many levels will there be? Will it have as many levels as AAS with each level corresponding or will be have just a few levels?

In another post a Pre-Reading/Spelling was mentioned (sorry, I've been looking all through the groups/forums and can't remember where I saw it). Could you tell me more about it? Will it be one level that is done prior to AAS and/or AAR (depending on which products are used)? What ages will be be for?

My middle child is 6 1/2 and over half way through an excellent phonics program (Alphabet Island) so I doubt AAR Level 1 would do me any good but my younger children recently turned 2 and 3 so I could use it with them :-)

Thanks for putting up with my many questions!

I would like your suggestion to my daughter Suzanna Christy who is studying First standard in an English Medium School. She needs some motivation to read lessons on her own. What are the methods? Kindly suggest some methods. Thank you. MBJ Pancras
