The ChatterBee

All About Spelling will be a vendor at the Midwest Home School Convention in Cincinnati, April 8-10.  And...Marie will be speaking!  Her topic is:  How to Help Your Child Who Struggles with Spelling.

Description:  If you have a child who struggles with spelling, this workshop is for you! Benefit from Marie Rippel's extensive experience in teaching spelling using multisensory techniques. Her fun and engaging methods have a proven history of taking the struggle out of spelling for both the child and the parent. You will discover effective techniques to help your child learn to spell, including strategies for actively involving your child in the lessons...so you can keep his or her attention without trying so hard. You will find out reliable spelling rules, and how to teach kids to apply them. You will come away from this workshop with ideas you can implement right away.

Bio:  Marie Rippel is the author of the popular All About Spelling series, a multisensory program created to take the struggle out of spelling. Marie’s experience as a homeschool mom with a child who could not learn to spell through conventional methods, coupled with her own love for the written word, led her to create this special program that has now helped thousands of children learn to spell. In addition to her extensive experience in teaching spelling, which includes eighteen years as a private tutor, Marie trains parents in Orton-Gillingham reading and spelling methods through courses offered by Nicolet College in Wisconsin, and is a director on the Literacy Task Force for Northern Wisconsin. She is also the co-author of three books for beginning readers.

AAS won't be at any other conventions this year as Marie is still focusing on writing...which brings me to another thread that I'll post in a minute!

Hope to meet some of you in Cincinnati (I'll be there too!).  Merry  :-)

Hey Heather, just wondering what you think about Life of Fred at this point. I just came across it and think it might be a good fit for my son who is a good reader and loves silliness. He is good at math but gets bored with all the repetition in Mat…
