We're sorry, but this discussion has just been closed to further replies.
I see lots of new faces lately, don't be shy, come introduce yourself! We'd love to meet you (even if you are not-so-new, LOL!)
I'm Merry, and we have 2 children who are just turned 11 (dd) and almost 13 (ds) now! My 11 yo is in Level 3, and my 12 yo is in Level 4, though both are on a short break right now, studying for our local spelling bee next week. My son correctly spelled specialty and straightforward today! And my dd spelled terrible and celebration! It's so exciting to see them taking the strategies they are learning in AAS about syllables, phonograms, generalizations, and pronouncing for spelling, and applying them to new words.
I've been looking ahead at Level 5 and can see that all our work is about to come together. We've been building incrementally, and now they are really going to be able to take off. I'm seeing better spelling in their writing too--it does a momma's heart good! They have worked so hard, it's amazing to think on all of their struggles (and tears--mine and their's!) with writing and spelling just 2 years ago.
What's going on with everyone else? Is it going well? Are you struggling? Let's encourage each other!
Merry :-)
