In general? Running around like a chicken with my head cut off. :D

Things really are going fine, just wish I had more room to feel I was on top of stuff, but such is life.

My oldest is half way through level 3, and doing well. I focus most of my attention on her as I want to get her finished and focus my attention elsewhere. She is my best speller anyway. My 2nd dd is finishing level 2, and doing well. My 3rd dd is still in level 1 doing lots of review, but she is feeling better about her spelling, which is priceless. My ds is still just working with phonograms. I will probably start him formally on AAS in the next 6 months or so.

LOL, it's two steps forward, one step back sometimes! Yesterday my kids had a copywork assignment (still difficult for my son because of his convergence issues that we are working on). We were doing 1st Peter 2:11, which mentions "aliens" and my 11 yo dd keeps saying the verse with an "alien" voice (I had to explain to her what this kind of "alien" is), ha-ha! Well, apparently there are not only aliens in the Bible but witches and fiends too--my 12 yo son used a homophone for the word "which" and left out the R in friends so it came out "Dear fiends..." ai yi yi! But we had a good chuckle over that!

It's interesting, but I find that my son's vision problems run in cycles, and yesterday was a bad day--had decimals in math too, and his division was perfect but his placement of those decimals was anywhere but where they belonged. Hopefully today is a better day!

Hi! I'll give you an "i've had this for about 6 weeks and this is my first report" update, LOL!

we're only on lesson 7 with my 10 yr old and lesson 5 with the 7 yr old

so far, they are loving it! Jonah (10 yr old, very slow to learn reader) had a tough time with the phonograms, but we have the CDRom...let me say that thing is GOLD in my book! they both review it when we do lessons (which i admit are not daily) and it's been the biggest help in getting them, especially Jonah, to HEAR the sounds...especially since we both speak and hear with heavy NJ accents, LOL! ;-)

Jonah is gaining in his reading, even though he doesn't really enjoy to read...i keep telling him, it's okay. You have to know HOW, you don't have to enjoy it...hopefully, once he can read better without struggling so much, he'll come to enjoy it...he doesn't have to be a bibliovore like me

Ben (7 yr old) is doing great, he sounds out all sorts of words...

since taxes are in, i'll be getting the beehive reader and maybe the homophone book....

it's really changed our whole program from high frustration to at least manageble

Oooh, so glad they're loving it. You know, my son really didn't like reading when he was in the "this is WORK" stage either, but now he really does. I hope your son will at least come to enjoy it a bit!
