The ChatterBee

Hi Everyone!

This giveaway is a special one. Let me explain:

Beehive Reader 1 has been acclaimed for having gorgeous illustrations, and the credit all goes to two wonderful artists: Dave LaTulippe and Donna Goeddaeus. Both of these people are talented in many areas of their lives, and I am honored that they chose to illustrate the Beehive Reader series.

In addition to being an illustrator, Donna is a chocolatier. And just as her illustrations are no ordinary illustrations, her chocolate is no ordinary chocolate! I am a chocolate lover (anyone else here a chocolate lover? raise your hand!) and the chocolate she makes with her business partner, Wendy Bath, is exquisite. And to make the chocolates even more special, they are packaged in boxes topped with paintings by Donna.

Here is Donna's latest chocolate offering:

These chocolates are hand made with rich, creamy European Chocolate. And the little bunny you see in the center is solid hand molded milk chocolate.

A close-up of the painting on the box lid:

OK. So do you get the idea that this is a pretty special box of chocolates?

What's that you say? You need a taste?

Let's do this: Vote for your child or student's favorite Beehive Reader character. If you already own the book, this will be easy for you. If you don't own BHR yet, you can see samples here. Everyone who votes will be entered in our random drawing for a half-pound box of Donna's Happy Spring Chocolate collection. The drawing will be in one week, Wednesday, April 22.

And that's not all! If you are chosen as the winner, we'll send you a free copy of Beehive Reader 1 along with the box of chocolates. Something for you, and something for a special child in your life. (If you already own BHR1, you'll get a full credit of purchase price.)

Name your child's favorite Beehive Reader character in the comment section below, and you'll automatically be entered in the drawing.

Update: Kathleen is our winner in the random drawing!

Our favorites has to be the sweet little bear cub in "The Nap"!
We love the cub in the nap - although my daughter also liked the finch in the same story (she couldn't decide on one)

My son liked Ron because he could set up his own tent!
My 5 year old likes the bear cub the best. My 3 year old likes the "nice wolf" in the same story. Although if he could read he would probably call it a nice red fox. ;)
Tutoring student #1's favorite character: the bugs in the rugs.
Student #2: the dog in "Off We Go!" He loved how the dog appeared in each picture.
The cub in "The Nap."
The napping cub! :)

I would like your suggestion to my daughter Suzanna Christy who is studying First standard in an English Medium School. She needs some motivation to read lessons on her own. What are the methods? Kindly suggest some methods. Thank you. MBJ Pancras
